You are invited to step back in time and discover stories behind The iconic places that make Canberra so wonderful and unique in the new space designed for cultural gatherings and creating connections. The PT. Gallery, established by a bohemian artist and curator petra jungmanova bringing the magic of Prague to canberra.
In this intimate and reveAling four night event, LIsten for a moment, marvel and be moved in a relaxed environment. this storytelling curated event is a result of beautiful collaborations with local academics, writers, artists and organisations.
Who was Verity and why is her name on the Sydney Building? Verity Lane Markets proudly wears the name of this brilliant pioneer, but not many people know about her little bookshop during the Second World War and its importance as a cultural hub for many years to come.
I've prepared a wonderful lineup of speakers to share stories and influences of wartime and current Canberra and what shaped it into the place we know and love; AustraliaN War Memorial, Mt Stromlo Observatory, tapestry of society and bushwalking in the Brindabellas.
Join us in the relaxed environment of the PT. Gallery just a few metres from the original Verity's bookshop, grab a drink at the bar and dive into the velvet jazz tones of the era filling the space.
PT. Gallery, a space to stir and to be stirred, champions creative opportunities for visual and performing arts, launches emerging artists and provides a neutral space in today's busy world. An important part of the gallery is Pt. Gallery Bookshop with many stimulating titles. There will be a display of two local artists to feast your eyes on artworks inspired by the cycle of living and sentimental stories from everyday life in Canberra.
Grab your friends and have a go at the life drawing class in the closing evening. Creativity is more fun when shared and PT. Gallery offers a safe and inclusive space to live a little!
Come and explore the hidden stories from the past and gain a deeper appreciation of our special place.
